Still suffering with the cold I acquired on the flight, we stepped into a cafe to get out of the rain, warm up and have a snack. The proprietor came to us looked at me and prescribed grog (a mixture of water, rum, fruit and spices). Perfect, warming, good for the throat and provided a positive attitude adjustment. A gift that kept on giving for awhile! Local cafes in small towns are great windows, seeing how people live and interact with each other. Comfort is the state we were in, gratitude felt, camaraderie experienced.
